if you notice odd errors in the next week or so…
...it’s probably because I’m toying with a rather rabid set of http request checks.
As for me I’m going to do my part to support our troops. I’m going to buy an SUV. With all those kids dying to keep us in oil, it would be unpatriotic not to use as much as you can.

Expatica: German Bundestag condemns skull incident in Afghanistan
Short version: A bunch of German soldiers in Afghanistan posed with a skull, origin unknown, and the photos predictably reached the public.
Disappointing behaviour.
I teamed up with DS and got us a dedicated server.
It’s really nice having more resources to play with than are actually used. Once NWN2 is released, I’m tempted to set up a server…
...and perhaps wondered how I got that way:
I blame the Young Earth Creationists.
For most of my life, I believed what I would, didn’t spend a lot of time philosophizing about what I believed or not, and was quite content to not care about the beliefs of others. This has changed once I became a parent and became aware of the fundie’s agenda of pushing religion into the science classroom. In turn, this pushed me over the edge.
To keep this suitably short, I’m built to be outspoken about matters I feel strongly about. There may be a redeeming feature of religious fundamentalism, but I’m not holding my breath. And I’m growing quite unfond of organized religion in general.
“The Quebec Ministry of Education has told unlicensed Christian evangelical schools that they must teach Darwin’s theory of evolution and sex education or close their doors after a school board in the Outaouais region complained the provincial curriculum was not being followed.”
Interesting combination seen adorning a Catholic school in Fredericksburg, TX.
“British Airways policy does not permit a cross to be visible, but allows Muslims and Sikhs to wear turbans, the hijab and religious bangles because, the airline says, they cannot be concealed.”
I think this is getting a bit ridiculous.
Actually, I had never considered wearing a cross until my (non-Christian) husband bought one for Christmas last year. I take it off when I’m boxing or showering, but otherwise it’s usually on.
If somebody told me to take it off at work, I’d probably tell the person to piss off. Oops. I guess that’s not a very Christian thing to do. But, it’s still probably what I’d do.
Did you ever come to see the day that Consi was rooting for the Democrats to take the House? Neither did I. That day is today though. The only reason I hope they don’t lose the Senate is because should an unexpected vacancy to the Supreme Court occur, I don’t want a repeat of a Souter appointment.
I’m disgusted with a party that held so much promise and for which I have invested both time and money. They have gotten neither except at a local level this year.
