EE 2 Beta
Just lost a longer post due to a posting timeout. How ironic.
Long story short: Expression Engine has stagnated for well in excess of a year and will continue to do for probably another half year or more. The current paid beta doesn’t have features that would compel me to use my credit card and on top of that, the free trial version currently lacks the wherewithal to test upgrading/rebuilding my sites. I’ll keep an eye on the beta builds, but I’ll also get reacquainted with Drupal to keep my options open.

Upon reflection, one way or the other I’ll stick with EE and I’ve upgraded one of my licenses. It’ll take me a while to get my testing setup sorted out, but I don’t have to be a in hurry.
I know that none of the third-party software works with EE 2 yet, but if EE 2 works better than expected I may consider working around it.
It’s a shame that the MT import facility has been nerfed in the beta, because I could make good use of it to rebuild all my sites and do away with some rookie mistakes from three years ago.
